Open Enrollment Information
The Johnson Creek School District participates in the Wisconsin Open Enrollment program. This program allows parents to apply for their children to attend school districts other than the one in which they reside.

Regular Application Procedure
Parents must apply during the open enrollment application period beginning in February for the following school year.
Parents do not need to reapply for open enrollment if their student is presently attending the school district via open enrollment, unless, they are going into 5th grade.
Alternative Application Procedure
If you miss the regular open enrollment application window, you may still apply for open enrollment. The alternative open enrollment period opens on July 1st following the regular application period.
To apply for open enrollment for the current school year, an Alternative Open Enrollment Application must be submitted oto the non-resident school district. This application can be found below.
Request for Tuition Waiver Due to Move
If a student attending as a resident of the district moves out the of the district mid-year (after 3rd Friday in September), the parent must complete a current year tuition waiver to continue attending for the remainder of the school year. This form can be found below.
To continue attending the non-resident district after the current school year, an open enrollment application must be submitted for the following school year using the above procedures.
Important Dates:
February 3 - April 30, 2025: Parents must submit applications online or directly to the nonresident school district.
June 6, 2025: Non-resident districts mail notices of approval/denial. If approved, the non-resident district will also notify the parents of school assignment at the same time.
June 13, 2025: Resident districts notify parents of denials. Only denials and the reason for denial need to be in writing.
June 27, 2025: Parents of accepted applicants must notify the nonresident district if the student will attend the nonresident district in the 2024-2025 school year. If the parent fails to make this notification, the nonresident district may refuse to allow the student to attend the district.
