RE: Every Student Succeeds Act (Public Law 114-95), Section 112 (e)(2)(A)
Dear Parent/Guardian,
You have the right to know about the mandated assessments your child participates in. The federal Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) requires that any school district receiving Title I funds must notify parents that they may request, and the district will provide the parents upon request (and in a timely manner), information regarding any State or local educational agency policy regarding student participation in any assessment mandated by ESSA, the State or district.
All students shall participate in state-wide and school assessments, and any student with a disability shall be provided appropriate accommodations and/or alternate assessments where necessary as indicated in the student's IEP or Section 504 Plan. Please visit the Assessments Information page to view the assessments administered.
Should a parent/guardian want to request their student does not test, they should submit a written request for student opt-out to the principal.
